Board Performance ReviewsAn increasing number of boards are recognising the value of a periodic performance review. The purpose of such a review is to ascertain 'how can we lift our performance?'
There are a variety of tools available to assess the board performance ranging from a very simple 9 question survey through to quite in-depth assessments. The tools can be tailored to your board's specific requirements, but the important thing to bear in mind is start with a simple tool. Get the board used to the nature of the outcomes a performance review provides before engaging with a more complex tool. Some boards underatke a performance review every year prior to the AGM and some boards prefer to conduct the review every second year. Tony has had extensive experience in coducting such reviews and in assisting boards to analyse and implement the results. |
