This article is a precis of a book (Forces for good:The six practices of high-impact nonprofits) which I now must get. It captures exactly what I've seen missing in so many nonprofits I've worked with.
Out of the many sentences which appealed to me, the sentences that were most appealing were:
'The high-impact nonprofits we studied are satisfied with building a 'good enough' organization and then spending their time and energy focused externally on catalyzing large-scale systemic change. Great organisations work with and through others to create more impact than they could ever achieve alone.'
Isn't that the truth? If only more of our community-good organisations would pursue that philosophy. Enjoy the read.
